We put our builders deposit sometime in March. They started working on permits and such, and they didn’t even break ground until late May.
Here is what it looked like on 5/24
Here it is after they backfilled the dirt on 6/1
Then, the builders went crazy - here it is half framed on 6/14
6/30, fully framed, roof up, they started with the siding
7/6, all the siding was up, and they started on roof shingles
My father in law drove by yesterday, and they have the roof done as well. After the foundation cured, they pretty much built the whole frame and the outside of the house in 40 days. Rest of the time is completing the interior - drywall , flooring, paint, cabinets etc. We are hoping to have a close date by the end of August.
They we move from our 2 car garage to a 3+1, where hopefully I’ll have enough space for a little shop in that extra bay on the far right, and maybe one of these
On that note, has anyone ever used !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ($1066 on sale, red one above ) or !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ($821 on sale, black one below ) garage cabinets?
I like the rolling cabinet and red color of the New Age, but every penny counts right now, and saving $200 would be nice.

That’s going to be a sick garage!

that’s exciting! congrats on the new home!
i used to detail these homes- the flooring is usually pre-cut and the roof trusses are all pre-fabbed off site. some builders even use pre-built wall frames and framing a home has become trivially easy and quick.

Thanks! I think I gave up on fancy flooring - unless my concrete patio guy comes through and gives me a good deal on some sort of a sealer - but the rest, I am trying to make it look and work great.

Thanks!
Trusses came assembled, walls were framed on site. I am not sure about the flooring - my buddy is a hardwood installer and I know they do everything on site, but carpets might arrive pre-cut because these are cookie-cutter models.

Ah, that I am not sure about, we were never there to see those parts delivered or installed. We’re 65 miles away so we only get to see it on weekends when we have a chance to drive up.

It’s a little weird to me that no one in your new neighborhood seems to have any backyard privacy.

my father in law has a husky tool chest in his garage and loves it, even after he banged it up by driving his golf cart into it

New neighborhood, plants not fully developed yet, but most of the neighbors left the yard with just the few default bushes. We have a $43000 quote for all the trees, bushes, flowers and concrete patio we want. That means we’ll end up doing to work because we can get it done for half that price, and I have 330 vacation hours.

I do like Husky a lot. Costco has a deal on the other brand - $200 more expensive, with one extra wall cabinet, but a much larger work surface with an opening without cabinets in the middle (on the bottom). I think that one might win, but it isn’t husky. I still have to see what Home Depot would charge for a similar setup by Husky.

Thank you! Hopefully in two months, it will be full of cars . Oh, the house might get some furniture as well :)

Oh that makes sense. All the new construction neighborhoods around here come with ~7-8 ’ tall plank fe nces so that’s just what I’m used to.
In any case congratulations on the house, that’s a big achievement.
